Justin Abrams from Newton,
Massachusetts, on 04/15/01, rates this: This machine
is excellent for hitting practice. When you are a serious baseball player
like I am it is imperitive that you be able to practice hitting off-speed
pitches. When you get to higher levels of the game practicing with a
regular pitching machine just wonftt cut it. Pitchers throw knee-breaking
curveballs as well as a fast and furious slider. This machine allows you
to work on all aspects of hitting. I own this machine and have it set up
in my back yard and it has done wonders for my hitting.
Randy Burriss from Fresno,
California, on 07/22/00, rates this: Very happy
with the Jugs machine. Throws everything as promised. Donftftt get a cheap
imation when you want the best!
david cort from seattle wa, on 07/17/00,
rates this: I bought one of these for my child and it has been the best
investment ever. because of this my son has played for his all star team 3
years straight, thats when we first got one. if any one should get a
pitching machine this jugs is the way to go.
steve from Lafayette, LA, on 05/29/00, rates
this: This is the best. Kids that hit on this really get tested. It
is not like a pay to bat machine where you can close your eyes and hit the
ball. If you want your team or kid to improve and bat well then this is
it. If you complain about its price, and I did the same, then you simply
just donftftt care about results and are only looking for something other
than yourself to throw the ball. I canftftt be a fool and critisize this
machine just because of itftfts price. Itftfts sort or like buying a 30 dollar
glove and bitching because your son canftftt catch....give me a break....It
is awesome
Justin from Knoxville,TN, on 05/20/00, rates
this: I thought it was a decent product but the price completly
sucked i was going to buy one for my little league team but its just to
expensive. I strongly advise against buying this machine because its not
worth what u pay
Christopher Benjes from Hollywood ,
Maryland, on 03/23/00, rates this: Fantastic

advertised.
Stephen King from Plano, Texas, on 03/10/00,

I also have a one wheel model.
chris from bouge chitto ms, on 02/13/00,
rates this: we have one at our school it is great i like it alot. but iss
expensive
Joe Mama from Delaware, on 12/20/99, rates
this: This is one of the sturdiest, diverse machines Iftftve seen yet
I still find it irritating that the cost of pitching machines must be so
high. If you look a the cost of input materials and construction labor it
is rediculouse that they should cost, even for the good ones like this,
more than a few hundred dollars. If anyone out there would be willing to
step outside the lines of traditional economic thinking and sell one for
what it cost to construct (plus profit, of course) instead of what the
market will bear they would make a million. Check out some of the el
cheapo rigs that pitch whiffle balls, they are nothing more than some
injection moulded plastic or pvc pipe. The electric motors with variable
speed control is a cost item but the mechanical portion of all the designs
are nothing special and should be priced accordingly.
Gary Earls from Lansing, MI, on 11/30/99,
rates this: I love your machine but the price is a little out of most
baseball lovers reach.
Do you offer team discounts on this item or is it ever on sale.
Love your web site.

Gary Earls
john from atlanta ga, on 11/13/99, rates
this: this product is excellent. it helps you pick out curve balls
when you bat and helps you time it and hit it. it use to be hard to hit
curves now i can hit them as easy as i hit fastballs.
JOSH LOUVIERE from PARADISE CA, on 10/23/99,
rates this: THIS IS A GOOD MACHINE T USE USE FOR INFIELD, OUTFIELD, AND
JUST ABOUT EVERY TYPE OF PITCHING THRE IS. ITS A LITTLE PRICY BUT ITS ONE
OF THE BEST PITCHING MACHINES OUT THERE.
DustWlf from america, on 09/18/99, rates
this: the pitching machine costs to much money.
Josh Williams from Traverse City,
Michigan, on 07/21/99, rates this: I gave this
machine 5 stars from personal usage. My little league team hits off this
machine every day and it is the best pitching machine I have ever hit off
of. No matter what ability you are you can set the speed to your ability.
I just love being able to learn to hit different kinds of pitches, like
curveballs for example. this machine is as close to real life as it gets.
chris from southern illinois, on 07/13/99,
rates this: hey, this is a great machine. we had one at my high school
and its the best around. i know from personal experience. batting cage
machines really suck compared to this. i give it an A+
Jugs Curveball Pitching Frequently Asked Questions
Where did the term ftJUGSft originate?
The original JUGS Curveball Machine was named from an old-time baseball expression for a curveball, ftjug handle curveft. The name stuck and has been part of baseball ever since.
Can I use regular baseballs and softballs in my JUGS Curveball Pitching machine?
Yes, they work very well. However, if cost is a factor in your organization, we would not recommend using them because they last only a fraction of the time that our ftsting freeft balls last.
Does JUGS sell used or refurbished Curveball Pitching machines?
No. The best places to find these machines are through used sporting goods dealers or your local classifieds. However, as with the purchase of any used items, make sure you check out the machine thoroughly, as replacement parts can add dollars to your purchase very quickly.
I want to set up a commercial batting range facility. How do I get started?
JUGS does not deal with commercial(token operated) setups. For information about JUGS Jugs Curveball Pitching Machines in a commercial setting, please contact us.
I can get my Instant Screen into a circle but it is too big for my bag. How do I get it into the proper size to fit in the carrying bag?
When you fold the top of the screen down to the bottom near the logo, you need to push it forward to where the netting starts, about a foot above our logo.
I have the machine set up to throw a 60 M.P.H. pitch at 60 feet. How fast will it be throwing if I set the machine at 42 feet?
Sixty miles per hour. The velocity doesnftt change when you move the machine closer. What changes is the hitterfts time to react to the pitch, making it seem like a faster pitch.
On your batting cage frames, why is the middle wider than the ends?
You want a two foot gap between the netting and the frame to limit the batted balls that can hit the frame and bounce back at the hitter. This is accomplished on the end sections by having the distance from one end of the frame to the other be four feet longer than the net.
What is the difference between the Softball Machine and the Super Softball Machine?
There are two main differences. The first is velocity. The Super throws up to 70 M.P.H. and the Softball Machines top speed is 60 M.P.H. The second is Superfts digital speed readout.
